stART -Happy Halloween Curious George

A Story + Art = a great stART

Happy Halloweeen, Curious George is one of Ryleigh's new favorite books. This week we did "Abstract" pumpkin paintings to go with the Halloween/ Fall theme. I had her use a toilet paper roll and an apple. She really liked all the painting and wearing her "mock".

Ryleigh really likes picking which section to read first.

Painting with the cardboard roll...

Moving on to the apple....

She really liked using the apple to paint with...we did several apple paintings this week!!!!

The abstract pumpkins......
before the stems...

After they dried, I added stems with a marker. I love how they came out :)

Great idea with the toilet paper roll - they really do look like pumpkins, with the stems.

We have read so many Halloween books with various popular characters. I can't believe we missed Curious George. Those pumpkin prints are so cute, and it looks like Ryleigh had a lot of fun with them.
