SCHOOL DAZE - WEEK TWENTY- SIX

Ryleigh is 36 Months and Braeden is 9 Months

This week we were back on track...Musical Monday, stART, Letter of the Week...Dance....and although we are not doing a traditional "school year" yet...I started to get together a curriculum for our official preschool year...starting in August...more on that later...

Musical Monday...Here are some of the kids with the drum...
I am loving that the babies get involved..and are actually into it now...
The girls made Pumpkin spice muffins...great for practicing listening skills, math, fine motor and its just fun... and provides a snack for after school time...
Working on a find the letter printable that I made...
Michelle made the next two printable activities...a "listening and following directions" sheet as well as a "which one is different" worksheet... We had the girls listen to directions given...such as place the purple block under the circle...and then follow them...they did pretty well but we will be practicing this activity a lot more... the next activity was finding the shape that was different and circling it... Ryleigh loves this type of activity...
The girls played princess chutes and ladders...great for taking turns and counting...
Ryleigh and Elena playing with the easel...
This week we did "V" is for Vase...I got the idea from No Time For Flashcards...
and then altered it a little bit....we used pipe cleaners for stems and foam and felt flowers...first the girls decorated the vases...then glued on the stems and flowers...

Ryleigh working on her stART project...
We did some pattern work...that I got from Confessions of a Homeschooler...
Ryleigh has decided that the Jumperoo is fun... and Braeden thinks it is hilarious to watch her jump in it...at least that's what I think he is thinking...because he giggles uncontrollably....
TINY TOT SCHOOL
Braeden turned 9 Months this week...his personality is really starting to come out... he is a mellow fellow....who has a definite mischievous streak...that can be seen when his dimple appears and by a certain twinkle in his eyes...

Braeden playing nicely with Elmo while Ryleigh is watching.....
Ryleigh walked away and this is what happened....
"Ryleigh...I'm coming to get you..."
he follows her around the room a lot...bouncing after her...

Playing nicely together...

Spending time with Granny...
His beloved Anna... I thought this picture was too cute not to include...
Playing with some toys...from a bin...that he tipped over...

stART - Ten Little Ladybugs

A STORY + ART = A GREAT stART!!!!
For this week's project, we read Ten Little Ladybugs... A great counting book...from 10-1.... Ryleigh is very into counting now and has taken a new found interest in this book (I actually got it for my baby shower 3 years ago...)

For her Birthday, Ryleigh received the "magic grow" capsules that turn into sponge bugs...very cute... after having the fun of watching the bugs "grow" she used them as stamps and painted with them...

Ryleigh dropping in the capsules...
Watching them appear...
Touching them...because they looked fun...
Braeden...scooting across the floor to see what all the fuss is about...
it's his "I'm coming to get you Ryleigh look"...then she runs and he bounces after her....
Some of the Bugs/Insects/Butterflies out of water...
Using them as stamps during "school time"...

The finished picture... she used a paintbrush at the end...

Ryleigh's 3rd Birthday Party

Last weekend we had Ryleigh's Birthday Party...it was at the Dance studio where she takes Ballet & Tap....we had some family come down/up/ over...(depending on where they came from)...and a lot of her friends...its always cute to see little ones dancing...here are some of the highlights from her party...I have about a kabillion pictures so here is a sampling....

ok...so this picture isn't actually from the party..but I really like it and thought it would make a great "beginning" picture...because I feel like it is saying "hello world...I am now 3!!!"...but maybe that is just me?

Braeden
Ryleigh opening some pre-party gifts...socks...
her absolute favorite invention in the whole world next to ELMO (of course)

Ryleigh and Grandma before we left for the dance studio
At the beginning of the party, the kids did a craft...they decorated a treasure chest (which was later filled with chocolate gold coins...)

Braeden in the back ground....chillin' with his daddy....
Braeden...

After the craft the kids danced a bit...
the boys were pirates and the girls were princesses...

Braeden...watching the girls dance....
They played pin the shoe on Cinderella...
And a version of "freeze" dancing...notice in the background (baby in green) Braeden is sleeping with my Grandfather...the party completely tired him out....
Juliette and Emi...future dancers....
Cupcake time... and everyone sang Happy Birthday...
Us...I think Braeden was still sleeping...
I posted a picture of the 4 of us in my school post...I think...

Happy Birthday to My Boo Boo Kitty....I can't believe you are 3 already!!!
(This is no way means that I am getting older...RIGHT?!?)
