This summer we went to the Corning Glass Museum in upstate New York ... and did not break anything while we were there...
Watching a demonstration of how they made glass beads/ bowls in the (1600's ?)... I don't remember exactly what era this was... but... a fascinating process!

Awesome! What a great field trip :)
What fun!!
Really? My one chance to be in your blog and no pictures of me? :)
It was a great day indeed. It's said that Corning is the second busiest tourist area in NYS for the arts (to NYC, of course) due mostly to the Glass Museum and the glass-centric shops on Market St. Corning also has the Rockwell Museum of Western Art - you'll have to swing by there sometime when you're in the area.
Also a note: if you want to go to the Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) try to find a local resident to go with. An ID from a Corning-area town will get you a much-reduced rate so that you can spend more in the gift shop.
Very cool. That glass english breast pump was neat too
Looks like a fun field trip.
We live about an hour or two or so from there and have never been! It will be a must this year! Thank you for sharing this in The Sunday Showcase!
