School Daze.... Autumn Time Fun...

Tot School
In Tot School this week we focused on Fun Fall Crafts.... and some fine motor skill activities...

We did hand and arm tree paintings....
here is Braeden getting his hand and arm painted...

Starting to finger paint on the leaves...
It was neat to see everyone's different technique...and enthusiasm for this project...
Braeden was VERY enthusiastic over the painting....
The finished Tot School Trees...
We used these sensory objects (from Home Depot)... to explore hard vs soft, rough vs smooth
They sorted giant shape buttons...here Braeden is talking for his buttons... :-)
They used toaster tongs to transfer cylinder shapes into ice cube trays...
Braeden mistook his for a wishbone.... and completed the project with his fingers... (YIKES!)
Sorting by color...
Doing the Do A Dot daubers... with ONLY water....
to paint on construction paper... Braeden made puddles... :-)
Enjoying the fall sensory bin....
K4
We finally got a picture with all 5 girls... Some of the topics we worked on that are not portrayed by the pictures were: our sight words...handwriting without tears...Spanish... and geography...
The K4 Class
We also did the Hand/Arm Tree ...
Working on their leaves...
The finished K4 trees...
Rolling a fall picture...with jumbo dice... (Printable available bottom of post)
Working on telling time to the nearest hour.... we love these foam clocks!
Making bracelets...aka...stringing beads onto pipe cleaners...
We made confetti acorns for our stART project this week...
They used Uno Cards and counting bears for a math manipulative... so many possibilities for these... we also use them to help practice Spanish...
The girls enjoyed doing this fall foam tree craft... (target dollar spot)....
Finished Trees... they even came with a scarecrow...
During their independent work time, some of the girls used these I Spy Alphabet Tubes I made... and found the letters....and then marked them with a bead on the laminated key card...
For Whatcha Making Wednesday...the girls made mini pumpkin breads... and used their knives to cut slices....

Two of the Books that we Read as we continued our Fall theme this week were:
  • Autumn Walk by Ann Burg
  • My Happy Pumpkin, God's Love Shining Through Me by Crystal Bowman

Oh, what a fun home! I'm tempted to "borrow" the fingerpaint trees idea! :)

Looks great! I love the tong/ice cube tray activity. What a great way to encourage that hand/eye coordination.

I LOVE the pumpkin bread activity - I really need to do more practical life activities with my oldest!

That is a great idea with the mini pumpkin bread. We do a lot of baking with our kids and they often have friends over. Of course the friends want to take home treats too - these would be perfect!
