stART- Merry Christmas Curious George

A Story + Art = A great stART!

This week we read Merry Christmas, Curious George. It's a cute story featuring Curious George decorating a Christmas Tree in a hospital. For our project, I had the girls paint and decorate a paper Christmas Tree. I mixed glue in with the paint so that the pom poms would stick. I also had them paint with a Popsicle stick...hoping for a "needle" look.... not really so much... next time I would just give them brushes and add the glue later...which is what ended up happening anyway....

That looks like such fun! And, can I just say how incredibly jealous I am that you guys are buddies and can team up to do the projects together?! It always looks like such a great time. Let me know if you all will be in CA sometime soon. :)

I think the popsicle sticks did make it more of a needle effect. Very creative. This came out so cute.

I like the idea of painting with Popsicle sticks. My kids love it when I give them something other than a paint brush to paint with but we've never used Popsicle sticks. I will have to try this.
