For our project this week we did leaf outline painting...I taped silk leaves (that I got from the Target dollar spot) to construction paper and had the girls roller paint over them...and then remove them to show the outline of the leaves....
Ryleigh painting the leaves...because the leaves were silk...they detached a little too easily from the tape...making painting a tad difficult...

cute!! Love how this turned out :-)
This is a fun idea that I think my son would love. If only I could figure out where I put our roller paint brushes. I don't know if I realized you were a former attorney until I just noticed it on your sidebar -- I am too.
We did something like this with sponges last year. I love your idea with the roller and the finished pictures are very pretty!!
Very nice! I am totally doing this craft with my kids. Thank you for sharing.
Very sweet and much easier for little hands to manage!

It's good to know about the difficutly with silk leaves. I'll keep that in mind if we try this. It is a great idea!
I love the idea of using a roller. Paint with brushes goes everywhere with JDaniel. The finished project looks great!
Yes, I agree with "An Almost Unschooling Mom"- I appreciate others "test driving" crafts so I know what works best when we try it! :0)
Great project. We've never used paint rollers before but I think I will have to try it. This looks so fun.
I found my way over from Read.Explore.Learn and am enjoying your blog now.
Love the paint roller idea.
I'm thinking real leaves or paper leaves that I already have cut out would work.
We "sponge" painted leaves this week for our tree.
Oh those are cute, I bought those silk leaves too, didn't know what I would do with them at the time, but I bought them because they were maked down to 75% off.
They turned out great! Great thinking using the rollers!
