A Story + Art = A great stART!
This week we read Merry Christmas, Curious George. It's a cute story featuring Curious George decorating a Christmas Tree in a hospital. For our project, I had the girls paint and decorate a paper Christmas Tree. I mixed glue in with the paint so that the pom poms would stick. I also had them paint with a Popsicle stick...hoping for a "needle" look.... not really so much... next time I would just give them brushes and add the glue later...which is what ended up happening anyway....

Love the story and the pictures. The finished tree looks super cute.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such fun! And, can I just say how incredibly jealous I am that you guys are buddies and can team up to do the projects together?! It always looks like such a great time. Let me know if you all will be in CA sometime soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the popsicle sticks did make it more of a needle effect. Very creative. This came out so cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute book, and art idea! The finished art turned out so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is so simple and cute! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWe love curious george--I haven't read the christmas book yet!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of painting with Popsicle sticks. My kids love it when I give them something other than a paint brush to paint with but we've never used Popsicle sticks. I will have to try this.
ReplyDeleteWe love Curious George, I will have to check out that book. Love the project idea. :)
