Braeden is 17 Months
This week we had our first official day of Tot School Beginnings (TSB)... essentially, because the kids are so young it is a play group for toddlers...with some slightly structured suggested activities... if they want to do them. I have about 9 Toddlers "signed up" for it... hopefully it will be a nice transition to "playing projects" in the fall when Braeden is 2.... hopefully.... this week I had our February Sensory Bin (Valentine's Day themed), some playdough, and what I thought would be a cute craft...contact paper with tissue paper squares.... then we ended with parachute... one thing that came to my attention during "class"...Braeden may not like structured projects... or sharing with others.... YIKES!!!!
*I was not able to get many pictures as I was running constantly.... :-)
Braeden loved the sensory bin...
He pretty much kept the rice in the bin....I suspect because the bin was pretty big... he completely emptied one the night before that was smaller....
Braeden not interested in sharing.... and ran crying when others wanted to play too... hopefully it was just the bin that is the issue...
I had the toddlers do a quick craft...using contact paper as a sticky base...putting on squares of tissue paper..instant collage...Here Braeden actually looks like he is doing the project...in reality he crumpled it up, threw it on the floor and then stomped on it...all within three seconds of being introduced to it... and I have smoothed it out and pleaded with him to at least try it so that I can get a picture.... 
Here he is clearly stating that no, he is not interested...and continued to crumple it back up again.... perhaps he will like next week's craft better....

This week we did Letter Qq, Number 12 and Color Green (we are learning the colors in Spanish)... The Girls also had an Elmo Party to Celebrate his Birthday...(Feb. 3)... to see more details of the Elmo party go here...

This week for our stART project (I didn't get a chance to do a separate post...I ran out of hours in the day...)... we did The Mitten by Jan Brett...it has been one of Ryleigh's favorites since we got it over a year ago...anyway...for the project the girls glued paper mittens to paper, and then put their hand prints inside the mittens... and made falling snow around them...

I had the girls make "q" is for quilt for our Letter of the Week Craft... we used contact paper cut in a square for the background...then they stuck on tissue paper squares on top... and glued on some buttons....

What a cute week! Sammy can be the same way at Braeden at that age.. just keep on doing it and he will learn.. or atleast that was my experience :-)

Sharing is still hard at this age. And it's hard to get boys to do crafts at any age. :) They used to have a "Must do" at my son's preschool and he would play, play, play, quickly(be forced) to do his "must-do", play, play, play. All kids are different. Your son is still kind of young for the organized "craft" thing. At least for a boy. I'm sure you see a difference between your daughter and your son? Girls are sooo much more crafty! Looks like you are so organized and crafty! Following from a Friday blog hop!

I loved to see your TSB with Braeden. How very cool. And that you are keeping it real including those lovely pics of when he's doing his own thing (crumpling the paper). The sensory bin was great.

What a great idea TSB is!!
Looks like fun. Hopefully being involved like this will help Braeden learn to share better. It's definitely hard at that age.
We made similar quilts last year, but I like your idea of using the contact paper. We used glue and I drew on lines so the girls could glue the squares into squares.
