stART- Alphabet Mystery.... Sandpaper Rubbing...

A story + Art = a great stART!!!

This week we read alphabet mystery... so so so cute!!! This is about the lower case (little) letters.... but one is missing... (little x).... the rest of the alphabet is off on an adventure in attempt to find him... I am not going to give the story away... but... being a children's book... you could probably guess whether or not they locate him... ;-)
I gently taped a sandpaper "x" underneath the paper... so it would appear when they colored over it... I have also done similar projects with a white crayon for the mystery picture... and watercolor paints...I recently saw another alphabet sandpaper rubbing on Totally Tots...
After they found the little "x".... they put Alphabet stickers on the paper...
The finished mystery projects.. if you look very carefully... you will find the little "x" in the center of the other letters...

Will try this with my son. He likes when letters magically appear.

What a great idea for this book! We've had this book out from our library before, but now I'll have to get it again just to do this fun activity.
