Ryleigh is 41 Months and Braeden is 13 Months

We celebrated my husbands birthday this week...did calendar time...stART...music class...dance class... and lots of running around...the house...not errands...

TINY TOT SCHOOL
Braeden really concentrated on his gross motor skills this week...by pushing anything that he could around...furniture included...he is also getting much sturdier on his feet while walking...

Braeden pushing his sister's kitchen set across the living room....
Braeden pushing his sister on a car...when they got to the end of the "road"...he simply moved to the front of the car and pushed by holding the steering wheel...
Braeden investigating how the wheel moves...
by flipping the car over and spinning the wheels...

Braeden pushing the laundry basket...while the girls watched...Juliette was previously in the basket...and he pushed her as well....

For our stART project, the girls made Pig Paper Bag Puppets...
to go along with our farm theme...

The girls worked on itsy bitsy farm books this week....
I had the girls color in d's on Find a Letter (d)...
For the letter of the week, we did "d" is for door...and drawing... I saw the door part on No Time For Flashcards...and thought that a drawing would look cute behind the door....
The girls working on their d is for drawings...drawing.....
Gluing the drawing to the d....so it could be seen through the "door"....
The finished projects....
They sorted 3-D shapes that I got from the target dollar spot...by shape...and then by color...

stART - Farmyard Pop-Up faces....pig puppet

A Story + Art = A great stART!
We have been "studying" the farm for the last two weeks...so we have read a lot of farm books...a lot...one of Ryleigh's favorites...that she got from her pop-pop when she was about Braeden's age...is Farmyard pop-up faces....its a great book...you put your face up to many different 3D masks of the animals....Ryleigh's favorite is the cow...

This week for our project, we made Pig Paper bag puppets... the girls used paper lunch bags and glued different shapes on (and googly eyes...and a curly tail)....

Ryleigh using her pink crayon...to add a little pink shimmer to the pig....
I didn't really get great pictures of her adding all the shapes...
but here she is putting on the eyes...

We poked a hole in the back of the bag and added a curled pipe cleaner for the tail...
Playing with the puppet...

School Daze- on to Cc... and Farm...

Ryleigh is 40 Months and Braeden is 13 Months

This week we continued with our musical Mondays, calendar time, stART projects and dance classes...and lots of enjoying the nice weather....

TOT SCHOOL
In Tot School Braeden focused on practicing his walking and learning to ride a push car... also...he worked on getting more of his teeth in....fun times....

Braeden playing with the cones for the first time...checking them out completely...
Coming over to me...to hit the camera with the cone....
Walking at Grandma Sue's House....
Ryleigh pushing Braeden (gently) on the car...
Braeden working on his shape puzzle....
So far he has tried to "match" up the shapes...and puts the shape on top...but doesn't actually get the puzzle piece in place...I was impressed that he matched them....(some of them)
Braeden chasing the girls through the obstacle course....
Braeden....not letting the girls back in the tunnel....and when they eventually did get back in...he used the tunnel as a drum...and then jumped on it...wrestler style....yikes!
PRESCHOOL
This week for Calendar Time our Letter of the Week was Cc; Number of the Week was 6; Color and Shape were Red Circle; and sight words were "I" and "See"....
Our "theme" was Farm...

The girls made Cup Cakes (for "Cc")...here Ryleigh is swirling in the chocolate to the yellow cake to make it marbled...(we then put in butterscotch chips)...
Working on the Letter of the Week Craft..."c" is for cookie.... The girls used red cylinders (circles) to make 6 circle chocolate chips...
The finished cookies...
The girls also put smiley face (circles) stickers on Cc...a great fine motor activity...
We worked on our alphabet books...
Here are the three girls working on their books....
Ryleigh coloring in her itsy bitsy "Cc" book....
For our farm theme...and C is for Cow...
we did Cow Roll and Color from
Making Learning Fun...
To reinforce both the letter "C" and our shape of the week, the circle.... I had the girls paint with coins...a messy..but fun activity!
The finished coin painting project...
To review from last week, Ryleigh did Finding B and Finding b... with her bingo marker...
Working on a Farm Puzzle...she would do puzzles all day long if she could...
Working on our stART project...for Chicka Chicka Boom Boom...
Also from Making Learning fun the girls did an alpha dot...
that made the Letter C...and had a cow on it...(both C and Farm...)

Working on their sight words, the girls listened to Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? ...and worked on their books from Hubbards Cupboard ...they used a different color to underline each sight word...
Another project from Making Learning Fun was these clothes pin Farm Counting Cards...I laminated them so they would last longer...
In the middle of the week, we set up an obstacle course for the girls to run through...cones, tunnel, mat, sit and spin...(small table to crawl under)...they were most interested in the tunnel...although Ryleigh did enjoy doing running somersaults...

Ryleigh at the sit and spin with Teagan close behind...
Crawling through the tunnel...

Our Calendar Routine....

We start every day of our "scheduled" preschool time with our calendar time....My Calendar is from Oriental Trading... First we go over what day of the week it is and the date (soon we will be adding in the months of the year)... and we sing our days of the week song. (Days of the week to the tune of the Adams Family- From Confessions of a Homeschooler)...

Then we move to our bulletin board for The Letter of the Week, The Number of the Week...where we do the number first in English then in Spanish.... and then we sing our Spanish number song...(found in the video below)... Next we cover the sight words of the week...The Color and Shape of the Week...Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday and Today's Weather (Both found from Confessions of a Homeschooler)...(soon we will also be adding Make the Date in change- found on 1+1+1=1)...

We then end Calendar time with our bible words to remember for the week and a bible story/message/song. This year we are covering the old testament and I am teaching out of Explorer's Bible Study Beginnings "And It Was Good!" Old Testament Lessons for Little Listeners.

The pencil cases under the bulletin board hold the laminated pieces/flashcards for the board.
*The Letter of the Week, Number of the Week, Sight Words, and Color/Shape of the week will all be available in my printables section shortly.
Here is what our temporary school room looks like:

Our Spanish song...as we sing we hold up the appropriate number of fingers...we sing the song through 2x...sometimes adding in the English as well.....
